Artistic Photo Journalism
In our wedding photography, we document what we see through our lenses. Like other art forms, photography is an expression of intention with the goal of capturing the emotions, feelings, little moments and the “heart” that is in the biggest day of our couples’ lives.
The Photographers | Bill & Kelli Nixon
Kelli has the unique ability to “see” people with her camera. Her photography speaks about a couple and their love for one another. Her sense of timing combined with the strong technical shooting skills helps her capture once-in-a-lifetime moments for couples on their wedding day. She has an outgoing, bubbly personality which helps brides throughout the wedding day. She is organized and kind which helps to keep the wedding day running smoothly.
Kelli has shot hundreds of weddings and this helps her capture all of the most important moments. Her “always ready” trigger finger is fires to capture the emotions, happiness, and little glances happening throughout the wedding day.
Photographer and cinematographer | Bill Nixon
With over 200 weddings as a cinematographer, Bill made the natural transition into professional photography. The same skills and techniques from shooting weddings as a videographer transfer easily to still photography. Often, some of the most sought-after photographers started as videographers.
Bill’s skills and talents shine through with night photography, back lighting, shutter drags, and off-camera lighting. Bill is completely passionate about lighting techniques which produce fantastic images. Weddings are a perfect setting for his work since the light constantly changes throughout the day.
As a team
Kelli and Bill shoot the great majority of their weddings together. Their skills match up very well with one another to capture and create wedding images for their couples. On the wedding day, they even have a personal competition of sorts to see who can capture the “best” shot of the day. The winner of the unspoken competition gets bragging rights as we post them to our Facebook Page. In practice, this competitive spirit among them, helps them constantly push the envelope in their craft and art.
Limited Weddings
Kelli and Bill take a very limited number of wedding commissions annually. Unlike some of the larger studios we don’t assign secondary or staff photographers to your wedding . Because of our limited weddings policy, we can book 12-18 months in advance. If your date is set, our recommendation is to book as early as possible.
